For the entirety of my gaming "career" has been on second rate business computers and laptops capable of flash games and a few titles if i'm really lucky. To hell with this! I've finally acquired enough funds from a stable summer job, to afford a legitimate Gaming rig. So ive been trying to put a quality rigg together that will handle my needs(MAX settings on AAA titles with substantial frames and fluid movement and smoothness). With your help, id love to get one going.
Approximate Purchase Date: Next week or 2 depending on advice given by everyone here.
Budget Range: ~3000 before rebates, before shipping
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, video editing and rendering, Blu ray movies, internet
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: Complete scratch build
Do you need to buy OS: Yes, Windows 7
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, microcenter, ncix I'd love suggestions and reputation of stores
Location: Near Denver, Colo USA (summers are brutal ~90 F)
Parts Preferences: Intel, corsair, NZXT, nvidia
Overclocking: If possible and cool, Yes
SLI or Crossfire: If budget allows
Your Monitor Resolution: 1080p(might move to 1440p in future)
Additional Comments: I'm in love with the Phantom 530 and will get it once available. Max settings, high frames, cool, quiet. If at all possible I love pc themes that are red, white, and black. Id like to watercool (CPU and GPU) eventually so id like to be set on parts ahead of time so only watercooling parts need to be worried about. Until then, A water cooled CPU cooler looks nicer than any air cooler ive seen(id keep the the overclocking light until a custom loop becomes available) Id rather have a 3770k and 2 780' than a 3930k and one 780.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Crap gaming experience for years and i want to change that.
Thank you all very much for any response, it helps alot
