Lower price and a newer CPU to boot.

Fair enough. As you can see, a powerful computer is easily within that budget. Do you have any other questions or concerns?

Unfortunately I don't assemble my own builds (mild muscular disorder makes me clumsier than one would generally prefer for handling electronics), so I'm a bit out of touch in that regard. You may wish to start a thread asking for suggestions.

Varies by taste. Monitors are a pure preference item, so I tend to figure "go with what you like". For me, a higher refresh rate on a smaller monitor (such as 144hz at 1080p, which my monitor has) is more enjoyable than a higher resolution, but I also don't much like large screens. Unless you play FPS professionally, there's not a technically superior option. If you can, I would suggest looking at a few 1440p and 1080p monitors at different refresh rates and sizes to see what looks best to you.

Don't worry at all about having questions. It's what we're here for. :)
