Hello, i play games that i want to record with higher fps & higher resolution, i currently record with 60fps locked but its at 1024x768 i want to go higher resolution and higher fps so that is why i want to upgrade my cpu.

This is my motherboard :

And i have a i3 2120, and 2 questions :)

I was thinking of upgrading to a i5 3570K, both have socket 1155, will it work?
In the link, under Processors: there is no i5 3xxx so I am worried that it wont fit.

I have seen benchmarks with this CPU and it looks pretty good but my second question is :
Is it worth to upgrade from a i3 2120?

Sorry if my english is bad, i have no excuse, it is just bad...

1. What's your graphics card?
2. The mobo uses the H61 chipset, which cannot overclock, so there is no point in getting a 3570K (k=unlocked multiplier) unless you plan to upgrade the to an overclocking-capable mobo in the future.
3. I am unsure if an Ivy Brodge processor will work, because on their website, they say it supports 2nd and 3rd gen LGA 1155 CPUs once, and only 2nd gen everywhere else.

Your cpu will fit, but it wont work with the mobo. It has a h61 chipset, which is made for sany bridge processors(2xxx series) and the i5 3570 is an ivy bridge(3xxx series). Its better to get a mobo that supports ivy bridge cpu's(h77/z77 chipset). Take a ASRock H77M mobo if you're thight on your budget. The 3570 is better

I have a hd 7770 and PSU is Corsair CX430 430W, do i have to upgrade my PSU for that motherboard and cpu? Its running fine right now but perhaps it will be too much for it.

I cant find ASRock H77M in any computer stores in my area, i guess there are lots of other motherboards i can look for but i dont know what chipset they should be so the i5 3570k will fit and the size of it so it fits in my chassi, i think i have µATX but im not sure.

You won't need to upgrade your PSU. Also, the fact is, you're going to be held back by your GPU as well--GPU power is what is necessary for higher resolutions since it does the scaling. If you upgrade your GPU, though, you will need to upgrade your PSU.

Is the 7770 really that weak? I know that i will upgrade the GPU in the future (and i need a stronger PSU i knew that) but my screen is square (I will buy a new modern 16:9 ratio gaming screen in the future) anyway the game i play most (Battlefield Heroes) only allows 1280x1024 (higher resolution will crop the image), do you think that resolution will be too much for my GPU? I mean it works fine now its like 80-90fps average but when i record i cant get a stable 60fps.

And i did look at some motherboards, I'm still not sure if what im looking for is going to work with the CPU and fit in my case, but im guessing that i need socket 1155 (for the i5 3570k) and that a Micro ATX will fit in my case.

But it looks like im gonna get some better stuff if i buy one of those new motherboards.

Like SATA 6Gb/s which i dont have at my motherboard (I have a Kingston SSDNow 120 GB harddrive) I guess it will be a bit quicker.

And pci express 3.0 (currently have 2.0) and i probably will get better performance (atleast of what i have read)

Sorry TheMentalist i did not pick up what you wrote, but now i know.

"Its better to get a mobo that supports ivy bridge cpu's(h77/z77 chipset)"

Edit : I have now looked at some motherboards and i found out that h77 motherboards could not overclock so i think i go with z77 (when i buy new PSU i will probably overclock it)

This is what i found :

english site :

I think it will work with the i5 3570k but i just want to check with you guys first :)
