I've been checking out the motherboard that I ordered, Gigabyte GA-Z87-UD4H, and in the drivers section, I noticed that it only has the USB 3.0 hotfix, but not the drivers themselves. How am I supposed to get the actual USB 3.0 drivers so I can apply the hotfix?

The Z87 chipset contained in that board has the USB3 controller integrated, therefore the USB3 driver for Windows 7 or below is included in the Intel chipset driver package. Windows 8 natively supports USB3.

Earlier boards needed a separate USB3 driver because the controller was a separate add-on chip, but that is no longer the case since USB3 is integrated into the chipset.

Oh okay, that's great news. Any idea what the hotfix is?

Usually they put out "hotifixes" to solve particular bugs that were discovered. In this case it may be a workaround to a bug found in the 8-series chipset USB3 chip.

Did this work for you? The Intel Drivers still give me USB 2.0 Errors when I connect USB 3.0 drives.
