Modular vs Standard?

I'm upgrading my current PC and I wanted to know if I would be better off getting:

A modular PSU:
Vantec Voltra Modular 550W Power Supply

Or:
A standard one:
Gigabyte PoweRock 600W Power Supply

I only really need 550W but I can get the 600W one for a really good price.
I know modular is much neater and will look better, but it isn't that important.
I actually want to know if the Vantec one is decent (considering it is the cheapest I could find in my area)

More about : modular standard

^That. The PSU is not the place to go cheap. Getting "the cheapest one" is just asking for trouble, whether it is instability, damage over time leading to early component failure, or a flaming death well under labeled rating, dragging other parts with it into the fiery abyss. Where are you, and where can you shop for parts?

I live in South Africa and shopping for parts is a pain, because parts in the US and Europe are much cheaper than in South Africa and brands that are slightly more popular almost completely dominate. There isn't much choice and importing is even more expensive and takes much longer.
Thanks for your input though, I am just actually wondering what good quality component you can suggest.

Same one on sale at NCIX

The problem for me is the shipping. It is a good price, but add the shipping price and it would then be better if I just got a different one locally. (I live in South Africa)
Is there any particular brand you could suggest? Individual products are also a great help, as I get an idea from people that know more, what to look out for and such.

Anything made by Seasonic (their own, XFX, some PC Power & Cooling, some Antec, some non-CX Corsair), Delta (some Antec), FSP (their own, some Antec), Enermax/LEPA (their own except NAXN), or Super Flower (Rosewill Capstone, new 80+ gold or platinum Kingwin) will be decent. If none of these are available, look for 80+ bronze or better.
