MSI Z87 G45 vs GD65.

Just what the title says: What is the difference between these two board? I heard something about PCI-E?

the 65 has a couple extra SATA ports, PCI-E I believe is the same 3 full ea w/ 4 x1 slots

Also, the GD65 has the OC Genie button where it is software based on the G45

That would be an advantage, the button will be BIOS based...I'm not a fan of the software based controls, they never seem to upgrade the software to match BIOS upgrades and at times the software can get weird

Prob not, they stick the extra ports in and raise the price, consumers think they are getting more than what they do

I believe the GD65 has a 12 phase power, and the G45 has 8, so the GD65 will be better for OC.

MSI Z87-GD65 gaming is better.
However, you can also consider Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H or Asus Z87-PRO (At least in USA).

Best one I've found so far is the Asus Z87 Hero, that's the one I selected after about 20 assosrted Z87 client builds

Asus maximus vi hero z87 OC is very efficient, better than the Z87-PRO isn't it?

I prefer it, slightly higher quality components in the ROG mobos,, better sound
