Sapphire hd 7770 1gb ddr5 compatibility?

Will my sapphire hd 7770 1gb ddr5 fit on my asus m5a99fx pro r2.0?

  1. As far as physically and slot, Yes. The mobo supports PCI-E 2 so your GPU will run at that rather than the native PCI-E 3 which you probably won't even notice. Just be sure it will fit in your case.

    Okk...but puTting that gpu on pci 2.0 will not effect the video...???
  3. Doubt you'd ever notice the difference between being on that mobo and another, might pick up a few FPS with a native PCI-E 3 socketed mobo, but then again, most monitors are 60 or so Mh, so they can only refresh 60 Times a second

    I have a amd board and there is no amd board with a pci 3.0 slot
  5. In all seriousness, I think you're good and you'll be happy.....AMD is touting the next line of CPUs so maybe they'll come out with PCI-E 3 mobos, but again, doubt it you'd relly see the difference, might be a mental thing that it might click a few more FPS, but you won't really 'see' them
