Hi,

I have recently finished my custom computer. Overall, the computer is very satisfying for me. However, there is a problem bother me a lot. If I on my computer, the boot time is very random. Sometimes it takes about 1 minute, but sometimes it will go up to 5 minutes for my boot up. Besides, even though it boot up successfully, the log in sound is played after I use it for almost 3-5 minutes. Before the log in sound is played, the overall performance is quite low which means it is quite slow for my computer to response but it will become fast after the log in sound is played.

For my computer's specification,

Processor: Intel i5-3570K
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H
Memory: Kingston HyperX Genesis 1600Mhz 2x4GB
Graphic Card: Gigabyte Nvidia Geforce GTX 650Ti
Hard Drive: Western Digital Blue 500GB 7200rpm 16MB Cache
Power Supply: Corsair VS650
Casing: Cooler Master Centurion 6
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 101
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1

I understand my build is not that good to get very fast boot but the boot time is really unusual.

Please help me if you know what is happening. If you all require any test from me, I am willing to do it and post it here.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi SublimeOrange,

For the drivers, I am quite sure they are all updated as I thought about out-dated drivers might cause this problem before. Beside looking all of it in the website, I also used drivermax and slimdrivers to check for it.

For the quick boot, I am not very sure. The only thing I can find about boot option is Intel® Rapid Start Technology. Will it cause this problem of me?

The link for my motherboard is: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4325#ov

OK, hard drive reliability is quirky. Backup all your data just in case. If there is a problem with the hard drive, CrystalDiskInfo should tell you, or the drive will die on you in less than a few months.
