I was noticing a bit of a bottleneck the other day in battlefield 3 and I was wondering if the FX-8350 would be worth the upgrade. My temps are always good (GPU: 50-65C) (CPU: 30-45C) and I get low gpu usage with low fps. Thanks for the help!
Another thing I thought was not-worthy is that when I'm playing bf3 every core is utilized only 60%, which I think is a bit odd.
Mobo: Biostar A880GZ
CPU: FX-6200 (OC'd to 4.4 GHz)
CPU heatsink: Hyper 212
GPU: Gigabyte HD 7950 (Stock clocks)
PSU: Rosewill 620w Green
RAM: 8gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz
Fans: lots of them
You should be fine with your 6200 @ 4.4...hang on...steamroller is only about 6-9 months out at this point...just upgrade then
EDIT: Turn your settings down just a tad...and you will pick up some performance...also, do you record while you play? Because that's a big drain on your CPU running both at once...
What's odd is that when I turn down my settings and res I get the same fps. (And I never record.) Also I've seen videos of people with the same card but different cpus and they get better fps even when recording. Another thing I forgot to mention is that on an empty server I get much better fps. Will upload a performance pic of that
