How much power a pc with 3 5970 and 1 6990 will need ?

As per my reading 5970 takes around 300w and 6990 around 400w at top load.

So this means 1300 w with 200 w for Mobo etc. should a 1600w LEPA (http://www.amazon.com/LEPA-1600-Watts-Crossfire-Certifi...) would do ?

Also i read, card take around 75w from mobo so does that means its 375 for a single 5970 or this is included in the 300w?

Any recommendation for supply would help?

Thanks all....

Under load 2 5970 will draw over 500w, a single 6990 has to be well over 400.

^ That says that 1100 watts will do ya. Maybe go 1200 so you have room to add another device if you need to.

Thanks Drewhoo, i looked at that also but its not taking into account the overclocking. I am gonna use this for Bitcoin so cgminer will overclock it. A single 5970 will def take 300wm dont know about the 75w from mobo....so 1300 w is already there without the mobo ....i am just a bit confused on this .....Also what do you think about the linked Lepa 1600w?

Go with the LEPA if you're planning on running your bitcoin miner 24 hours a day for 7 days a week especially if you're planning on using three overclocked Radeon HD 5970.

Thanks.

Is there any other option? like add2psu or any other ?....i read that Lepa is good but too many 12v rails might reduce the efficiency...thats why wanted to know other options......

thanks again

Multiple +12V rails do not reduce a PSU's conversion efficiency. What it offers is safety.

Thx .

So you mentioned 3 overclocked 5970, will it also hold one overclocked 6990 also?

The MSI 890FXA-GD70 is what Bitcoin miners like to use because of its PCI Express slot layout.
