so my sister is dropping by in cali and they have a microcenter. currently the 3570k is going for 190 while the 4670k is going for 200. The 3770k is going for 250 while the 4770k is going for 280. My question is which one is the best for gaming and medium vid rendering for the price.

4670k-http://microcenter.com/product/413251/Core_i5_4670K_34GHz_Socket_LGA_1150_Boxed_Processor
3770k-http://microcenter.com/product/388575/Core_i7_3770K_35GHz_Socket_LGA_1155_Boxed_Processor
4770k-http://microcenter.com/product/413248/Core_i7_4770K_35GHz_Socket_LGA_1150_Boxed_Processor

thanks

hi again, for gaming / video editing the hyper threading will work amazing so an i7 build, then either haswell or ivy. Personally i would go with 3770k but that is my preference, the reason is because the 4770k offers certain things that little to no applications currently use and also will be able to OC the 3770k better. Side note the 3770k has been there for awhile and the Mobo are all up to date and wont have to worry about any issues.

Just to clarify what Raising said; the i7's hyper-threading will improve your video editing performance, but does nothing for gaming.

the i5 and i7 will perform the same when it comes to gaming so the extra money spent in an i7 will only help you out in the video editing deparment

I personally haven't seen more than a 1-2 FPS difference with HT on and off with my current i7 :)

I usually see the 5 in like Arma which is very CPU but besides that not worth it

Yes, exactly.

These retailers are getting them at ridiculous prices  Just shows that they're able to sell them incredibly cheap and still make a profit due to how cheap they're getting them!

The only con to Microcenter is that it isn't widely accessible...most of their best deals are in-store pick-up only (and there aren't that many stores across the US).

Is this a sale or are these the standard prices? If these are the standard prices then I will stop and pick something up when I am in proximity of one of these stores.

Thank you for the links!
