hi all. im really hoping someone can help me because as of now im fresh out of ideas. i have a toshiba satellite L450-W11 laptop. the other day my niece was on it and whatever she done to it, my wireless simply will not work now. i have tried basically everything i could think of to try and fix it ranging from, uninstalling the drivers - and reinstalling them, to reformatting the laptop by reinstalling windows 7 and nothing has worked. when i turn on the computer and the bios starts up the wireless light will come on but after that it goes off again, in device manager it says that the realtek PCIe FE Family controller is working properly but still no luck with it. if anyone has any suggestions i would really appreciate it.
regards
johnny.

Hi

Is the Windows 7 from a a Toshiba Recovery disk or a OEM System builder disk or a retail disk

A few years ago I purchased a cheap a Toshiba laptop which had retail Windows 7 ultimate installed on on it and the wireless card was thought to be dead (hence the cheap price)

but re installing Toshiba Windows 7 from the recovery partition re activated it.

The Realtek driver from the Toshiba web site should also work
(but for some reason did not work on the retail Windows 7)

Are you saying the Wireless card is not working ? or is reported to be disabled ? or you can not connect to the wireless router. ?

no its my own windows 7 ultimate disc, i do not have the toshiba recovery disc. the laptop previously had windows 7 home premium on it before i reinstalled windows 7 ultimate. i completely reformatted the laptop. i have tried the drivers on the toshiba website before and after formatting my laptop but no luck. im not exactly sure what the problem is, my wireless seems to be turned off, i have tried different methods to turning it on such as the FN / f8, bios settings, WLan auto config etc but none seem to work. i think its either the wireless card is not working or the wireless is disabled. in device manager i do not see any wireless software tho, only the realtek PCIe FE Family controller.
