I need help getting the right parts for my friends PC. He wants to be able to play games. Mostly Dayz. BF3 and BF4 when it comes out. I'm going to give my old 6850 which I was able to play bf3 on. I need a setup that would be good for him. That could play these games without lag. Price Range between 500-600.

500-600 euros?dollars?pounds? With a low priced PC I would go for a GIGABYTE motherboard, AMD FX-4100 CPU, 8GB RAM, max. 600w PSU, Cooler Master 280k case (something like that).

Hi c5carden,

IF you want a gaming PC to play BF3 go with this one:

CPU: Intel i3- 3220
(I know it is dual core, but it can handle easily BF3 - around 40-45 fps)

GPU: MSI Nvidia GTX 660
If you want AMD go with the 7850 from Radeon.

MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP LGA 1155 Intel Z77
You can go with the AsRock Pro3, but this one is way better.

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4) 1600Hz DDR3- Black
You can go for the Kingston HyperX 1600Hz Blue. There is no need for more than 8GB.

HDD: WD Black 500GB 7200rpm
There are many other options as Seagate Barracuda 500Gb.

PSU: Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 550w
It leaves space for upgrades and it is very reliable.

Case: Antec 300
Very nice case but you might choose any other in that price range.

This prices were consulted in the 21st of June 2013 23:30. They MIGHT change.

Hope I helped,

That CPU bottlenecks the GTX660. If you also want to play BF4 get at least quadcore (i5 or fx-4100)

So you might want to get a less expensive case and choose instead of the 660 a 650ti Boost to save some money and buy a i5-3330. That would increase the total price to about 50$ more but... it really is worth!

That would be better, but if you switch to AMD motherboard/CPU you might have enough money to get 660. The 650ti will disappoint you with BF4.
A GIGABITE or MSI motherboard with a AMD FX-4100 and GTX660?

I am not a big fan of AMD Cpus but... most people like it and they aren´t all wrong for sure! I think that would be good: get an AMD CPU and mobo combo and you can have enough money for a 660. Get the MSI 2GB GDDR5 OC
