hi first post here.
I am building my first gaming rig.
the componets I am thinking of right now are:
i7 4770k
msi gd45 1150 motherboard
gtx 770 asus oc 2gb
corsair cx750
h100i cpu cooler
cm storm stryker
8 gb ram 1600mhz corsair vengeance low profile
kingston ssd v300 240gb
1tb seagate barracuda mechanical hdd

I was just wondering if everything here will work nicely together and if the the cpu is too much compared to the gpu etc.
I was also wondering if there are any better gpu's in the same price range as that 770.
I intend on playing bf4 and other semi high demanding games on a single 1080p monitor.
also does anyone know how the overclockability will be with this kindof rig (cpu)

More about : compatible build

Yes, the CPU is overkill. All you need for gaming is the i5 4670K. A system like that would overclock like a beast. The 770 has the most bang for buck right now. The power supply is good if you plan on future sli, but if you plan on keeping a single card, then I would go with something like the cx500.

The overclocking is much better on the GD65 , because of the better power phases.

No, it doesn't. The only difference between the i7 and i5 is "hyperthreading". This, in essence, let's windows virtualize an extra 4 cores. However, only a select few applications can actually utilize these resources, such as heavy video editing and rendering. Gaming is not affected whatsoever. Not worth the extra $100.

+1, but if you can't afford it, the gd45 is still a very solid performer.

Yes, and make sure you get the i5 4670K if you want to overclock. And if you don't plan on SLI'ing later on, lower the wattage on the PSU. The fastest plane ever made has a good psu posted.

could i go 770 sli in the future with a 750w psu? or would that be stretching it?

Yes , I would , but like stated above the GD45 is a nice board also.

also would a 600w psu be sufficient for the current build?
