I just built a PC yesterday. Im using a 120GB SSD for some of my games and apps along with my operating system (Windows 7). I was trying to figure out why I only have 9GB of space left then I found that my pagefil.sys and hiberfil.sys are HUGE. One is 17GB and the other is almost 13GB. Are these important? Can I delete them?

Here is a picture of data on my SSD: http://gyazo.com/af382dc9fa9f0d96aee811181207c0a1

Also, I have 16GB of RAM. I read somewhere that this is related to how much RAM I have.

16GB RAM = 16GB of a hibernation file. Turn hibernation off.

Page file - turn it down to 1024MB MIN and MAX

Other optimization stuff here:

Consider installing your games elsewhere. Gameplay does not benefit (other than load times) from the SSD.

hyberfil.sys can be removed by disabling hibernation feature. To do this run command prompt as admin and type
Code:
powercfg -h off
Reboot might be required for change to take effect. Note that you'll lose the ability to hibernate.

If you have a mechanical HDD in your PC for additional storage, it's best to reduce the pagefile on SSD partition to 1GB and set create secondary pagefile on HDD partition. Seeing as you've got 16GB of RAM, depending on what you do with your PC, you will probably never get to use pagefile.
To do this, right click Computer > Properties > Advanced system settings > Settings (in performance box) > Advanced > Change > uncheck 'automatically manage pagefile' > Select 'C:\' - custom size - 1024-1024 - Set > Select your HDD partition - system managed size - Set.
To further explain the split, having 1GB pagefile on SSD will help with boot and shut down speeds, while having the big pagefile on HDD will prevent OS lockup in case you use up all the RAM.

GAMES will eat up a lot of space as well. You may wish to consider installing most of your games to a secondary Hard Drive.

Also, about 15 to 20% of your SSD is supposed to be untouched. This is called overprovisioning and it prevents massive slow-downs later.

Samsung Magician for Samsung SSD's can do this for you automatically and hides this for you. Sure, it's a lot of missing space but you bought the SSD for a reason and if you want it to run well you have to manage it properly.

A 120GB SSD once formatted with overprovisioning applied should have about 90GB of usable space (of which your Pagefile and Hiberfil would use space unless you modify them).

I agree to modify these so:
1) Pagefile max/min is set to 3GB
2) Hiberfil is deleted
