Ok, so i just built a new computer and i have a 120gb SSD and a 2 TB HDD in it. I installed windows on my SSD, but i want my HHD to be my main C:// drive. Whenever i install something it goes right to the SSD, but when i choose to install it to the HDD there is no program files or anything. Do i need to install windows on both drives?

Hi,

1) You WANT for Windows to be on the faster SSD. I don't understand why you would even buy an SSD and not use it.

2) Programs on HDD. While your 120GB SSD should have space for most programs, you may wish to install Games (including STEAM) on the Hard Drive. That's quite easy:

When installing Steam or any other game/program you have to choose the "custom" location during the installation process. Here is my setup:

120GB SSD - Windows and applications

2TB HDD (with the following sub-folders)
- Downloads
- Backups
- Games
- Steam

*When I installed STEAM I did it to my 2TB (E-drive) Hard Drive under the folder "Steam"; any games I buy are automatically downloaded into this folder.

I also use Acronis True Image to create an Image of my SSD in case the SSD fails or I get a virus I can RESTORE the backup that's on the 2TB drive in my "Backup" folder.
