First time poster!
Hey everyone, I am currently working on my first build and have begun ordering parts. Being the newbie that I am, my plans were to purchase a i5-4670 since I was not planning on overclocking. However, I ran into a great combo deal on Newegg for a i5-4670K CPU with a Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H mobo (which I was originally planning on buying). The deal is great, and I would end up paying less than if i was just getting the i5-4670 and the mobo.

I do not plan on overclocking any time soon, but I think that I will tinker with that down the line someday when I am more familiar/comfortable/educated about OC'ing. I realize that the 4670k is suited to overclocking (while the 4670 is not and more suitable for those not wanting to overclock). My question is: If i get the 4670k, and do not plan to overclock, do i have to purchase/install an aftermarket cooler? Will the stock cooler work fine if I am not overclocking? Can I just wait to install a cooler at a future time when I am ready to overclock and still purchase and use the 4670k at stock settings in the meanwhile without harming my other system components?
Thanks for any help, advice, and guidance.

no i5 and i7's[ not 500$+ i7's which are extrme editions] come with stock intel heatsink which does a very good job keeping temps low at stock config. and yes you can install a new aftermarket cooler if you wanna overclock in future.

No you don’t need to buy an aftermarket cooler for this as it out of the box, However Something like the evo 212 is very cheap like 20-30 dollars and it will keep you cpu temps from ever getting to hot the stock cooler is rather Horrible for the longevity of the CPU even without ever overclocking or using it at max power.
So get a cheap evo212 and save the cpu form an early grave + if you ever change your mind and do overclock it you will be happy you have that evo212.

Word. Thanks for the help! If i do plan on installing an aftermarket cooler later, how difficult/feasible is removing the stock fan and replacing it?

stock heatsink is easy to remove, you jusy have to take out those push pin's that connect the heat sink to the mobo and your good to go. after market cooler is a little time consuming but still easy if you follow the manual or see some videos in youtube.
