Toshiba MK2004GAL USB Device not recognized by My computer, only seen as apparatus

Files are not accessible.
The device is only seen as apparatus near by printers. I have Windows 7, 64 bits

I have solved it via system control->computer control (management?) -->disk control --> making a
"new volume". jkwast
