Ok, so I am not getting a display of any bios or windows obv.

The pc fan turns on, cpu fan turns on, the motherboard has a green light and this comes on. It has no onboard video so I plug in my PCI-E graphics card and plug the display connector into that but am not getting any type of display.

I do know the graphics card works, I am using it now.

I tried multiple times with one ram, both ram, no drives, one drive, sata, no sata and whatever else combinations you can think of and still get no display.

One thing, the display I am using is an Acer and when the connector is not plugged into anything, the screen says "Cable Not Connected." Well, when I turn the pc on the screen just is blank and has no message. Usually screens post a message if there is nothing going on, I believe.

I am wondering if anyone knows what's going on here. I have tried multiple variations of tests. I could place the mb on a surface and try to boot up. What type of surface if any can I lay the mb onto? Maybe a wood desk? Or the padding that mb's come with?

Any ideas, does it sound like the PSU is faulty or the MB is faulty or the CPU even. I really do not believe it is the CPU, I believe I tried another CPU some time ago.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated thank you.

List the full specs.

You can place the mainboard on the foam it came with.
Make sure that your CPU heatsink is fastened tight enough. If it it too loose it can cause the exact problem you described. Make sure its fan is connected to the CPU_FAN header on the mainboard.
Double check the connections. ATX 8/4pin CPU power and GPU 6/8pin power.

Mainboard: Asus Proactive P5AD2-E Wireless Edition Premium
MG289

Processor is Intel 3.20 GHz I beieve

PSU is 250 Watt model and actually a 20 pin connector, the MB is a 24 pin.

Graphics Card has to be used as there is no Onboard Video.
It is a NvIdia 6500 GT or 6400 GT

I have never used the connector on the video card, even with other boards. I am using that exact video card right now on this machine and did not connect any power pin to it.

Doubl check the connections I did do. And continue to do. lol
The fan was connected and was running. It was connected to the CPU Fan plugin as well.
The case fan, a small fan even turned on also.
So two fans were on, green light on MB is on, fan on graphics card is on. But no screen. No beep, but no speaker.

Thank you for the advice, I will try now.
