I am building a pc for some reasonably light gaming and i was wondering whether i would need to buy an after market CPU cooler. If i was to would the Cooler Master Hyper 212 eve be sufficient?
stock cooler is okay if you don't oc. but it can be really loud when the cpu is loaded.
3rd party coolers can keep the noise noticeably lower than stock cooler, and they can keep the cpu cooler.
cooler master hyper 212 evo will be sufficient.
make sure your case , motherboard, ram are compatible with cm hyper 212 evo.
Would you overclock? If not, stay on stock. The stock cooler is already ok. If you want to prolong the life of your cpu thru lessening the heat on it, then go for the 212. I have the 212, stock temps of my amd cpu went down by about 15C.
stock cooler in my opinion is trash ans Intel should be condemned for even selling such trash.
but they can of course get away with it so they do.
the i5's OEM cooler have 'some' copper in them but for $20 or so on newegg you can come out better.
I'd even take a CM Hyper TX3 over the stock Intel cooler..
