Hi all,

I bought a PNY Geforce GTX650 and installed it. I turn the power on and the display is in power save mode.

I thought it was the monitor cable as this is a 6 yr old Dell 20" flatscreen. I purchased a new DVI cable, and the problem still exists.
The monitor works great with my old PC which has a GT220 card w W7.
New system is Gateway I5 w/ W8.

Looking for solution, any advice?

I wasn't able to find a detailed description of BIOS used on your mainboard. I can give you a general guidelines about what you can try to do.
In BIOS:
First thing to try is to find a primary graphics adapter setting and switch it to PCI-E. It will most likely be in advanced / north bridge configuration section of the BIOS. Shutdown, insert your GTX650, try again.
If this doesn't help, remove the geforce card, enter the BIOS once again. Look for a settings concerning secure boot and legacy devices. Disable the secure boot and enable legacy devices.
Sometimes there is also a Launch CSM option in boot section. Enable it. It is possible that only after enabling it, it will be possible to disable secure boot.

Remember what you are...

Remember what you are changing so you can always revert the settings to their original state. Write it down or something.

"Sometimes there is also a Launch CSM option in boot section. Enable it. It is possible that only after enabling it, it will be possible to disable secure boot".

These were the only two options that were listed in my BIOS. I disabled the secure boot, enabled the launch CSM. Only then, was I able to enable the legacy options.

Thank you for the advice. I greatly appreciate it.
