Problem: My asus motherboard isn't compatible with my FX-8350 (until I can update the BIOS)

Motherboard: M5A97 LE R2.0
Revision: 1000

CPU: AMD FX-8350
Compatible with revision: 1006 or above.

Since I won't be able to get it to boot (that's what people on the web say) how am I supposed to update my BIOS in the first place?

Unfortunately this board doesn't allow you to update the BIOS without CPU installed.

Try booting it with this CPU anyway. There is a chance that it will start and show the CPU as unrecognised or as some other model, but still allow you to enter the BIOS and use the EZ Flash utility.

If Bejusek's suggestion doesn't work, your only other option is to get a CPU that IS supported in order to flash the BIOS.

it will not boot at all with that cpu installed until you flash your bios .. i just made the same mistake

i will do absolutely nothing .. it wont spin fans .. it wont post bios .. your screwed lol

buy a crappy processor and flash your bios
