ok, so in a nutshell what would be the best way to go about this? do i absolutely have to disassemble the waterblocks? the reason i ask is becuase i hear they can be an absolute pain to get back together. ive also heard of people adding in vinegar and such and running it through just the pump/res and the blocks to clean them in a repeating cycle. so what is the best way to go about cleaning the waterblocks?

Loss of people just use Boiled/hot water with a drop of (their own favorite chemical) to flush out debris i won’t name one because it depends on what you have in your system.

As for cleaning the blocks I think it’s good to clean them fully every 6 months you never know what could have gotten inside. I had about a build up a silicone in mine once because of a mishap. lol. If you use anti free or dye it’s a good idea to check it.
