eh hell with it, its free isnt it? thats $70 worth of ram, might as well take that deal, if your on a budget you might as well take the deal. Im planning on trying out Ballistix, read up a little on crucial, sounds like its a pretty solid company, nothing special...but like i said solid. However ive seen so many reports of doa memory, maybe thats just me. Besides, every company has their own bad batches though, so im not gunna hold that against them. Ballistix are nice because they are low-profile so if you have a large heatsink they wont get in the way. But like I said those are free with a good motherboard, there isnt really a reason not to the that deal. And also I dont get what you mean by "would the 1.35V affect it"...affect what?

I am getting this ram for free too, but you might want to be careful with that ram. If you look at the latest reviews, customers got a ram stick that was 1.35v and one that's 1.5v.

yeah thats what i heard, if you zoom in really close on the picture you can see the sticks are diffrent, im probably not gunna mess with it and just use the 1.5v stick, im fine with 4 gb. then ill sell the other stick for like 20 bucks to make some money for 8 gigs of a different type of memory

I bet if you contact Newegg they wouldn't mind replacing it.

good point, thats another possibility, i just hope it doesn't come doa, its not really a problem for me, it would just be annoying to have to wait for a new set of memory. I might have to expect it though considering it comes free

Hi. Ballistic sport is a very good ram. No manufacturer will ever bundle two differently speced rams in a kit/bundle. Rest assured that both of those stick will be 1.35 Volts. Your mobo will automatically apply the requisite voltage and then you can apply more for an overclock.

I would suggest you to not mix rams from different kits because you may compromise on dual channel operation. Dual channel is hardly noticeable but is always a welcome thing to have when you can have it :)

The extreme 4 might run a bit hotter so do ensure you have good airflow inside your case. all in all, it's a great mobo-ram bundle.

It's sad to hear that. But it is not a question of it being allowed or not. Ideally, a ram kit has sticks which are identical in every way to ensure that dual, tri or quad channel operations are not hampered. I used to think that for dual channel operation, you need two rams which are identical down to the lot number for a guaranteed performance.

The reason for this belief was a post on this subject in a corsair thread ON Corsair's own forum by a Corsair rep. I had a 4 GB Cas 9 Value select 1333 ram. I bought a second stick Almost 10 months later with similar specs and my rams run in Dual channel operation. CPU-Z said it and refreshing the windows rating pushed the ram ratings to 7.5 from 7.4 when the rams are run in single channel operations. I do not know if I was lucky.

Gist of the long post is that even the manufacturers assume that a Ram kit must have absolutely identical rams and that is the way Kits should be. I think I was wrong in the first place assuming that it is a ram bundle/kit.

Have you tried contacting Newegg? That model number is supposed to include two 1.35v.

Well it is supposed to be a kit http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=BLS2K4G3D1609ES2LX0
However Newegg has been putting a ram stick that is 1.5v instead of 1.3v in it.

yeah thats the lesson here. be careful of free memory. sometimes you will get different sticks, like i said i only used one stick, idk even know how to make a 1.5, and a 1.35 work with eachother. im no ram expert. but hey still 4gb of free memory, im not complaining, it was a budget build any way

is it possible that 1.35V module is a Dual-voltage one. Crucial has dual voltage modules which run on 1.35 and 1.5 Volts. These modules will run at 1.35V only when all other modules that they are paired with are also 1.35V dual voltage modules. else they run at 1.5V.

May be that is how this pairing is done.

yeah it was easy, surprisingly took only one day. my buddy got the same memory for free, but he got the same sticks from the beggining, i guess they just messed up a few orders mine included, but my friend didnt have to send it back, idk why some people are getting 1.35 and 1.5 or just two 1.35s, either way like i said its free so its always worth it. its been working fine in my system all day, so i have no complaints
