Windows 8 Not Recognizing New Hard Drive

I have Windows 8 running on my SSD (C: ) and I have another WD 1TB drive for additional storage. I recently have added another WD HD (exact same model), but Windows 8 wont detect it. It shows up in the BIOS and in Device Manager. What am I supposed to do to get this disk formatted and working? Thanks. This disk is for storage only, not for an O/S.

The O/S won't recognize the disk under Disk Management. It only shows my SSD and original standard disk. I have tried swapping power and cable connections. My first storage disk works wherever on the board, this second disk refuses to be recognized no matter where I plug it in, albeit the system knows it is there.
