I have 3 PCs running sql server with very important data. Each system has a second HDD used for regular file and folder backup.
Recently there was a electrical surge that fried all 3 PCs I was able to salvage some of the hard drives.
Due to this incident I was considering RAID 1 on each and every system but I want to know is it possible to deploy somehow RAID 1 between a PC and A NAS such as the Synology DiskStation DS712+ or the Buffalo TeraStation Pro TS-QVHL/R6

There is such a thing as networked RAID, but I wouldnt even try it. Your performance would tank after you introduce network latency into the equation.

Simple solution, get a surge protector or UPS for your NAS machines, that will prevent this problem from happening again. From there just having a normal RAID1 within the NAS will protect against drive failure, while if you do backups of each NAS to the others then that will limit your chances of data loss through some event like a fire.
