I was trying to make a rescue USB with Grub4dos, but I can't get UBCD4Win to boot . I did build the I so in windows 7 with a windows xp professional sp2 disc. It would be cool if I could get a fix for this.

Hi

Did you read the instructions / help files and use ubusb.exe to format & copy BartPE folder to USB.

ubusb works (choice of grup4dos or alternative Linux boot loader)

This gives you a menu.lst which supports ubcd4win
(not the ubcd4winbuilder.iso but folders \programs & \minint) and a few files in \ )

www.ubcd4win.com seems to be down but support is still available at
http://www.911cd.net/forums/

ubcd4win project is now getting out of date and you need to update the mass storage & network drivers unless you have a old PC
(last update 3 years ago)

(http://driverpack.net for XP drivers)

Have you burnt the ubcd4winbuilder.iso to CD to ensure it works on your hardware ?

Hi

pleae provide more details about your 'windows xp professional sp2 cd'
is it
1) retail ( inc upgrade)
2) Microsoft system builder oem
3) Manufacturers modified OEM version such as Dell or HP
only first 2 versions are likely to work first time

I got it working by using the UBUSB.exe that was in the UBCD4Win installation. I was also able to add other isos to my multi boot USB.
