HP 1484 motherboard fsb

I have a Compaq presario cq62-210us that I want to upgrade. It currently has an Intel celeron 900 CPU and I want to add the best CPU I can and was wondering if I could go over the current fsb of 800 to 1066 and how I would go about doing that.

Generally Compaqs have a locked BIOS so are sorta out of luck

You can search the web based on the mobo model # looking for an unlocked BIOS, and they are often some out there, people who have cracked it to unlock it, but there's no guarantees and it just trash the mobo

Is there any way to tell if the BIOS is locked? I recently updated the BIOS to the most recent version provided on the HP website, does this mean thaty BIOS is locked?

Go in and see if you can change FSB, if not it's locked
