  1. Ya can't put an Intel CU in MoBo w/ an AMD 3+ socket
  2. Well you answered your own question in the title. The M5A97 is an amd only motherboard with an am3+ socket. No intel processors will fit into that mobo. So you would want to find something such as an Intel motherboard, or an Amd processor. For the same price range http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284 and about equivalent AMD processor.

Okay thanks. Can I have some help finding the right motherboard to work with that cpu??
  4. For the intel cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131835 this would be the closest to the M5A97. Im assuming your price range is the same as the M5.

Okay your being a big help. I could prolly go up to like 150 price range if you think thats worth it!
  6. Then if you are willing to spend more http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131837. I personally say both are about the same, just some minor pluses to the higher one. If you are trying to save money go with the cheaper one and put it towards your gpu upgrade.

    okay thank you so much!
  8. Mhm. Happy building!
  9. At that price range I'd go for a Z77A-GD45/55 or Z77 Extreme4. Better power phase design than the LK.
