Few question about case fans

I want to get new fans for my case since the ones that came with it are a bit too loud for my liking. Problem is I've never had experience with buying case fans so I was wondering if someone with experience can recommend good, cheap and quiet 120mm fans? Also are they all about the same in terms of cooling ability or are certain designs better than others?

Another question I have is: right now I'm using http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=67326&vpn=THREE%20HUNDRED%... for my case and as you can see it has fan ports on the bottom left and top right panels. If i were to add fans to those which one should be intake and which one should be outtake and how much difference would it really make in cooling?

You would want an intake in the front and bottom, and then an exhaust at the top and back. As for the fans I use Coolermaster cool blue led 120mm fans that are fairly quiet. As for your case you can just get the plain black fans rather than the leds.

Thanks for the answer. You seem to be answering all my threads :D

The default fans for my case actually came in as exhaust on the top and intake on the rear with no side fans. From my understanding if i get side fans they should both be intake and should i change my rear one to exhaust?

With the configuration you described the air comes in the case, goes 4 inches, and goes back out haha. I would say both sides intake and both top exhaust, with maybe the top being another intake. You always want either equal or more intake than exhaust.
