So I'm looking to get a gaming PC by the end of this year and I wanted to know whether I should have a system with the FX-4100 or the i5-4430. I know the i5 would be the better option, but I'm on a strict budget and wouldn't be able to get a decent Graphics card with it.

With the FX-4100, I would be able to get a gtx 650.

But with the i5, I'd only be able to get a Radeon HD 6670.

I'm going to be using the PC for primarily gaming, and I'm not planning on overclocking/Dual-GPU's.

So what would be the better option?

I also will be running games on a 1024x768 Resolution monitor. Though, in the future I would like to get a upgrade, so what would be a better res?

I honestly think u should get an apu especially if ur using a 1024x768 monitor. Now I build gaming, video editing , server, and standard pc's for friends and I would be much abliged to help u. umm if u could just put ur budget up and also if can put up what kind of games u would be playing. me and the rest of us can help u out.

My budget is maxed at $750. I plan to play mostly fps games (Battlefield, TF2, Planetside, etc) and a few mmo's. I wanted, however, to make PC my primary platform for gaming.

I also should mention that I plan to upgrade this PC as time goes on. So the absolute "best" parts aren't a huge concern for me at the moment. I'm really looking for stable fps on modern games, and I don't mind if I play on Medium-High settings.

Ok well I think u should get an AMD APU A10-6800k. Once u get this u can also buy an additional 6670 for better performance, but I already had a great $700 build that includes this apu. In a few minutes I will put it up for u.

Ok here we go-
AMD APU A10-6800k-$150
ASROCK FM2 A75 motherboard-$70
Corsair Vengeance RAM 8gb 2133mhz-$85
Western Digital 1tb 7200rpm sata3 hdd 64mb Black Caviar-$90
Windows 7 home or pro-$90-$130
Optical drive(up to u)-$20-$25
Cpu cooler(better performance)-Cooler master seidon 120mm-$55
XFX Radeon hd 6670 with 1gb ddr3(works with built in gpu)-$68
In total-$640 but with shipping it might be $750 max.
Now u could put in an ssd for about $80 more but it reads 530mb's a second and it will only be 64gb which could fit 1 or 2 games and ur operating system. Ok almost forgot about the case and psu. but I got that covered. U can get an in win EM013.T350SL micro atx case mini tower case with 350watt power supply. This system is really good because I made the same system for my cousin about 2 weeks ago and so far zero complaints but only pure performance for a cheapish pc.
