Hi
I am about to put some more RAM in my old Gigabyte EP45T-UD3LR with an upgrade to 64 Bit Windows 7. My chipset is intel P45 Express. I found the RAM I wanted (G.Skill 16GB (4 x 4GB) PC3-10600 1333MHz DDR3 RAM - 7-7-7-21 - Ripjaws-X Series) but it specifies chipset P67. Does this matter?

Also My User Manual for the EP45T-UD3LR, Version 1, says that the board supports 8GB of RAM in the product specifications. However, when I was researching a RAM upgrade, the specs for the board on many sites say 16GB. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could tell me which is correct please.

Cheers and thanks!

Try running crucial memory advisor and look on your mb vendor web page under support. There be a old memory qal list. The older mb run fine with DDR 2 800 ram. Some mb near the end of the 775 chipset life were hybrid mb with two DDR 2 slots and some DDR 3 ram slots.

Ripjaws X can be run about on anything, the design was tuned towards the 1155 and SB, but they work well in everything....however for socket 775 I'd look for a 1333 set at CL9, these are High performance CL7 sticks and may have a lot of trouble getting them to play with the MC (memory controller) in your North Bridge Chipset...
