Whats a good CPU cooler for a Phenom 2 X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban?

I want to upgrade the stock CPU cooler that came with my Phenom 2 X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban? The stock one keeps the CPU from overheating but the cooler constantly speeds up and down in RPM and I'm thinking it's not keeping it cool enough to stay quiet. And I'm looking for a efficient and quiet CPU cooler to upgrade to but I have two problems. Where do I go to find out information on the stock cooler that came with the CPU? And what to look for when purchasing one. I'd imagine socket compatibility would be one and why do some coolers list individual CPUs under compatibility?

Some cpus have specific socket size which is why they are listed, as for finding the right size just find that processor its a socket AM3 so thats what to look for in a cooler. I personally recommend the coolermaster hyper 212 evo if you are going to want air cooling.

Gam3r01, would you think a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO would fit in an Antec Six Hundred Black case? I don't see my two G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 getting in the way. I also have a 750W PSU. My CPU is a X6 1100T Black Edition.

What do you think?
