Hey TH,

Looking to purchase a new motherboard + cpu soon, and I need some advice. The prices in Canada aren't very forgiving, which is why I'm looking to save as much cash as possible.

I'm not concerned with energy savings, and graphical performance is not a concern - I have absolutely no interest in any intense graphics in this particular build. Mobo's are particularly expensive for Haswell currently, which is why I'm leaning towards Ivy Bridge.

With Haswell slowly rolling out, does TH think I should wait for an affordable Haswell CPU + Mobo, or go with Ivy Bridge? It would be very helpful if you could suggest a particular CPU + Mobo on Newegg Canada.

Thank you!

Ivy is your best bet the differance between haswell and ivy bridge is basically nothing especially if your not gaming. If its just a basic computer youre wishing to build for browsing and light gaming id go with the i3 3225 and use the hd4000 integrated gpu
