is BIOS update necessary in OCing i5 3570k?

I'm so ready to OC my i5, i've download the latest bios for my asrock extreme4. I just haven't installed it because the site says don't update the bios if the system is working properly cause it may damage the mobo if not installed properly. So how do I start ocing?

OK thanks guys. If i go to the bios I'm supposed to see what? I know i can OC now but I saw a comment from a thread that i should get the latest bios before OCing. Also, my cooler is h100i, i got turbo boost enabled up to 3.8ghz and the vcore is only 1.07 i think. My highest temps in Intel Burn In test is 62 degrees and idles at 33-37. Is this normal?
