Very similar setup to what i have, Samsung 840pro 512 gb + 1TB WD hdd.
Not sure what you mean by caching, the ssd drive will be used by the os and your favorite programs while other programs and internet explorer would be configured to use the hdd to save space. If you mean page file then you would probably either disable it if you have enough system memory or move it to the hdd to save space. Older programs might look for a pagefile and only for this reason to keep it, at least on the other hdd.

Also if this is your first time buying ssd, they are quite small and probably haven't thought about a cradle or mounting bracket for it. For this i just used velcro and mounted it securely in the case. Double sided tape works nicely too ive read, but i went the velcro so if i have to remove it any time its not a hassle to.
