I just built a pc and i realised my motherboard has 2 pcie slots.
One of them is pcie3.0 and the other is pcie2.0.
I have searched around the internet but still cant find out which is which.

One of pcie slots is black and the other is blue does anyone know which is pcie3.0 and which is pcie2.0?

The black port is currently occupied by my graphics card and the blue port a pcie wifi card.

One closest to the CPU is the one for the GPU.

The PCIe2.0 x4 can usually be spotted by missing 3/4 of it's pins.

Its a PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode) is that missing pins too?
Does the graphics card work with pcie 2.0 if its optimized for pcie3.0? And is there a performance boost with pcie3.0 for the graphics card?

That's what I meant - it's a x16 slot with only four lanes connected. An x4 size slot is just shorter, with all full.

There's a slight boost, but the main thing is that you congest the DMI 2.0 chipset-CPU bus when you use the PCIe 2.0 lanes. A lot of the difference comes from the fact that it's 16 lanes vs 4, though the PCIe3.0 lanes are twice as fast.

Looks like it's the blue slot from Asus's site.
