Hi all,
I've finnally managed to get my Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD to boot from the AHCI enable 6GB SATA port and everything seems to run fine.
However, when i run the Samsung Magician software to verify the expected performance i'm only getting slightly better than a SATA II drive. 389MB/s READ & 242MB/s WRITE.
The Magician software also states that the maximum performance should be achievable as it has detected a 6GB/SATAIII connection.
I have Win 7 x64 running on an ASUS P6X58D-E Mobo with 12Gb RAM. SSD is the only device connected to the SATA III port and i have two HDD connected as RAID on the standard SATA II ports.
The Marvel 9128 controller is correctly set to AHCI.
The Intel SATA controller is set to RAID.
AFAIK, i have installed the latest drivers/Mobo version, etc.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks.
Raj

I recently got an 840pro from Toms to do a review on. I got very similar results when I first plugged it in. Also on a Marvell controller. I think it was around 390/250 R/W. I moved it over to the ports on the Intel controller and it went to...where it should be. (Don't want to say, writing the review right now and it should be up in a day or two.) I tried upgrading driver, nothing. Lucky for me my Gigabyte Z77X-UD4H has native SATA3 support. 390 read isn't bad, but you'll need a new board with better support for SATA 3 if you want to cross 500MBps.
