Should I overclock my current Phenom II x4 965? Or should I upgrade it to another AMD CPU?

Overclock it. If you see any improvements that suit your needs and doesn't cause any crashes, stay with it. But be prepared to buy a new one as it won't last as long. Ask yourself this, do you NEED to overclock it?

Before doing so, make sure your cooling system is good enough.

that's not a bad mobo for mATX AM3+ boards and since it's AM3+ it will run FX chips like the 83xx if you wanted.
so if want to keep the cost to a minimum and stay AMD then update your current mobo BIOS now with your Phenom chip
then grab you a FX upgrade.
other option is to go Intel with a new CPU and mobo purchase.

my opinions.

If you can overclock the PII X4 965BE with the mobo, then you might as well see how much performance you can get out of it. If it's not enough of a performance increase, then consider upgrading.

If it is video editing you want to do with it get a new cpu, 8320/8350. When you're only gaming with it get yourself a new videocard and ram if you don't have atleast 6gb of ram. What is your current gpu, how many ram do you have and what are the things you want to do with your pc?

in that case get the 8320/8350 and maybe(only when video editing) get 12gb(or even 16gb) ram.
