hello guys! i'll talk to the point.
is it good to sacrifice the GPU for a better mobo? i have a tight budget here and i'm planning for future upgrade, at this time, i just using it for watching movies, mega-multi tasking (open a lot application at the same time) and maybe playing some games, i don't really care if i only can play the games with low preset, as long as the game is playable. and i also planning for overclocking and SLI/CrossFire in the future. thanks before for your contribution, i really new in this forum, and sorry for bad english ehehe :D.

Solution
I would say having a good motherboard is priority #1. A crappy board with great peripherals is like a diamond coated P.O.S. What would really help is if you listed the materials you have/plan on getting/are willing to sacrifice. But, in short, yes I'd sac the GPU for a while and upgrade the board.

you didn't give enough information about your entire set up. having said that, I use cheaper ( usually under $100 ) motherboards and stick higher end components on them. Cross fire and sli are a waste of money, especially if you buy one card now and one in the next 2 years. there's almost always a newer and better single card out that's close enough to being a better performer. games change and so do the architecture of the cards.

Well look at it this way ..... a GFX card addition or swap is a 5 minute thing ..... a new MoBo, Case, CPU, storage etc is hours.

I recommend this build a lot as it gives you a very playable system for $1,000. The Case, PSU, Storage subsystem, MoBo, CPU are all ones ya would find in a $2k system..... A later investment of $155 brings you right up to what you would get w/ a $450 GFX card.

hey thanks for the fast response!
so i'm going to build an AMD platform, i also use my old components, 4gb of RAM, Monitor, 500w PSU (i forgot the brand), Case etc
in this case, i just need a new CPU, Mobo, and a low-profile GPU, since i really need a good mobo with long-lifespan

i'm planning on the FX 8350, ASUS SaberTooth 990fx R2.0, and ASUS GT 630 2gb DDR3 (Low-end).

I would agree with that. Graphics expert will likely step in and tell me that's wrong...
