Netgear Readynas 102 vs Synology DS213j

As the title, wich one? I can get both at the same price and really can't decide :p.

informations:
netgear: http://www.informatique.nl/pdf/readynas_100_ds.pdf
synology: http://www.synology.com/products/spec.php?product_name=DS213j&lang=nld#p_submenu

The DS213j looks like it uses less power, but does the netgear have more performance? Power usage does play a role as the device is always on. But performance must be good enough to run a simple web server, transmission, and watch a couple of HD movies on multiple devices.

All advice is welcome, maybe i'm better off with another device but i really want 2+ bays as my single bay nas just crashed and lost all data and don't want that to happen again!

Thanks for help in advance!

I would take the synology anyday. If you are going to use raid please make sure you use raid compatible drives.

edit - I should probably add that I am biased. I've had problems with readynas's and hardly ever with synology plus I get good support if I do.

Thanks for your answer, but i went ahead with the Netgear one as i liked the hot swappable disks and usb 3.0 connections :p. Also i've had good experience with Readynas, and none with synology.

What about Raid hard disks? Every disk can work in raid right?
