Afternoon,
I've decided to buy a desktop, but I want to customize it. I have a budget of £700 to £850.
My first question is; Should I buy the parts seperately or customize a computer online and order it?
The second; The specs I've gone for are:
Case = Cooler Master K-380
CPU = i5 3470 OR 3570 (I need to know the difference. I'm not too bothered about a slow start up speed, or anything).
Heatsink = Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo - Low Noise
Power Supply = 700W PSU or Cooler Master GX Lite 600/700W PSU - Low Noise
RAM = Corsair 8GB XMS3 PC3-12800 1600MHz (2x4GB) - Lifetime Warranty (DDR3)
Graphics Card = I'm lost here. I'm saving up for the Nvidia 770, but I don't know whether to buy a Nvidia 650 ti boost, or use intergrated graphics?
Motherboard = Asus P8Z77-V LX (Intel Z77) - VGA/DVI
Network = Wireless LAN 300Mbps (PCI-E)
HD = 1 TB Seagate (1000 GB) SATA-III HDD 7200 RPM 64MB
OS = Buying seperate
Monitor = Using Laptop
Keyboard = Standard Slim Keyboard (USB) (Saving for gaming one)
Mouse = Nil (Saving for gaming one)
Speakers / Sound = Intergrated sound card, no speakers; headset.

The total cost of these specifications (using the "better" 700W power & 3470 & 650 ti boost) adds up to a grand total of £783.92, but this is just by using one site (computerplanet.co.uk).

If any of you say I should build it manually, I would be grateful if you could suggest some fairly cheap sites, which have fast delivery and are efficient.

Thanks
Dan

what do you want to use it for?

also consider scan.co.uk, aria.co.uk, overclockers.co.uk for custom prebuilt and components and ebuyer.com for components.

Do you really need wifi? note that unless your router supports 300Mbps you'll be stuck on whatever it can reach.

with a bit of tweaking you can get a 670 especially now that they have been reduced.

I'm going to be using the computer for everything really, but I'm going to use it mostly for streaming videos, recording in HD, playing games (kind of seriously) and recording the games. I want good graphics, and to be able to run BF4 quite smoothly on around the medium settings.
I'm going to be upgrading as I go along though; i7 3770, 320Gb SSD, 16GB RAM etc...

don't bother with an I7, not worth it for gaming, get the unlocked version of the i5 now though.

"don't bother with an I7, not worth it for gaming, get the unlocked version of the i5 now though."

Ok, cool. That'll save me a fair amount of money in the future.
