ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
My goal is to set up a 3 independent monitor solution. I’m a consulting engineer and I will be doing a lot more work from home in the near future. To make that functional I need to set up my home office workstation better for work.

My main display is the 28” monitor which will be good for reviewing drawings or working on CAD drawings and/or documents. On either side I will have a widescreen monitor turned vertical in a similar resolution as the 28” display, meaning I want things to maintain the same scale from the main monitor to the auxiliary monitors.

I don’t play a lot of games on the PC at this time and don’t really expect to. The performance of the current graphics has been adequate for the things I do.

On the hardware side, I’d be happy to continue using the built-in graphics for the main monitor and use the card to add the other two monitors. If this is a bad idea, I’m not opposed to driving all 3 monitors from the new card.
Thanks for the input.

Still doing research, I found comments about the difference between gaming cards and workstation cards like the Quadro series--really pricey and seems most important for rendering.

I don't think I need anything really high end. I do 2D Autocad with a little bit of 3d modeling and use Navisworks some.
