most of the well known and respected brands are in the $100-150 range (or more in some cases).
cherry mx blue are best for typing. browns are fine as a substitute if you want something quieter without the clicking noise. both can game.
cherry mx blacks or reds are good for gaming but are bad for typing.
for your budget perhaps a rosewill mechanical keyboard. its not going to be any thing fancy though.
for $80 you could also get a unicomp customizer which doesnt use cherry mx switches at all but the original mechanical buckling spring keyswitch. generally its considered the best keyboard every made (well its a clone of the best: the original ibm model m) but its loud and lacks a few modern features.
its built like a tank though and has an internal tray that can handle minor spills and grime. it takes a pretty messy or major spill to actually hurt this keyboard. to give you an idea of how durable they are i had a 1987 model m which was working fine up until someone spilled a whole glass of 80 proof into the keyboard which overflowed the tray. you could probably beat someone with the keyboard and still use it to type.
the cherry mx keyboards absolutely can not take any spills whatsoever as the liquid drains right into the switches which is a very poor design. this is true for pretty much ALL of the cherry mx boards.
i had a wasd keyboard which dont get me wrong was a nice keyboard however that is now dead due to a rather minor spill. once the keys are gummed up there isnt much you can do to save it except attempt to repair it.
the wasd also was much lighter and built of abs plastic which isnt as durable (many cherry keyboards are abs). the keys will shine over very quickly (3 months for me). not this doesnt mean the characters come off just that the plastic looks shined in areas. the 1987 model m has no shine at all from 25 years of grimy hands using it. (i bought it used ... i didnt use it myself for that long)
just a few ideas.
