OS installed to SATA2 vs. SATA3?

I currently own a mechanical SATA2 hard drive and am going to buy a mechanical SATA3 hard drive. Would it make a difference to which drive the OS is installed to?

If the only difference is the SATA interface, no.
However the SATAIII interface is newer, and so it stands to reason that the HDD is newer and probably performs better.

Wouldnt worry about it though, nothing much has really happened in the 7200RPM HDD space for a long while now.
