Hi, I have recently bought a Canon 7D, and I would like to purchase a Wide-angle lens. I have never had a Wide-angle lens before, so I am not sure which lens is best. I only have a budget of about £350.
Thanks

If you are willing to stretch you budget just a tiny bit, you can get a great Wide Angle Zoom Lens. It is the Tonika 11-16 f/2.8. Nice fast aperture and great overall quality. There is no auto-focus/manual switch though. You just pull down the focus grip.

How wide? The lens listed above is nice and wide^^

You have to take into consideration your focal length is multiplied because of the cropped sensor!

Since it is an aps-c sensor, you will have to multiply x1'6 your focal lenght in order to know how will it look like.

For example, 100mm lens will crop the image like a 160mm one. A 35mm will crop like a 50mm...

That is the problem when you waste money in 60D/7D instead of saving for a full frame one like 6D or 5D, that you almost can't have Wide-Angle lens unless you expend a fortune.

Nevertheless, I've a 17-40mm L lens wich works nice in my aps-c (600D) and my FF one (5D MkII), try to get that lens... but I think it will be quite more expensive than £350.
