Hello! I am thinking about upgrading my computer, running 2x 7970 GHZ editions in crossfire. I currently have one now. But I am not sure if my power supply, a Corsair GS800 will still be able to keep up with two of them. Other specs are:

CPU: FX 8350 4.0 GHZ (not overclocked)
Motherboard: Gigabyte-900fxa-ud3
Ram: 8 GB hyper-x beast 2400 mhz
Storage: 1 TB HDD+ 120 GB samsung 830 series
Soundcard: Asus Xonar DG
Network card: Something d-link...I believe
Cpu fan: Noctua NH-D14
Chassi fans: 4x 140mm Led fans+ 1x Non 140mm fan
1x NZXT sleeved led kit 2m

I know sapphire recommend a 750 Watt PSU for only one card, but that is bullshit. When i looked through some power consumption benchmarks, it looks like it should handle it but just barley!

If your graphics cards and CPU are not overclocked, there should be no issues running them with the Corsair GS800 PSU, even with minor overclocks on all you should be fine. I wouldn't have any hesitations in running that combination.

Yeah, I have done the maths in some different ways, I have never ended up getting over 800 watts, but very close sometimes and others actually below 700 watts. But will the GS 800 always provide at least 800 Watts or will the PSU provide less and less over a few hours of gaming? Thanks :D  But keep in mind that the 7970s vaporx editions are already factory overclocked to 1050 mhz!

As time goes on (years usually) the ability ofthe PSU to provide it's rated current will diminish but as a rule I will use a PSU through two (hopefully more) builds. With a three year warranty, I'd expect it'll still perform well. I've read some conflicting information as far as the graphics power needs for the 7970 VaporX if overclocked... can't really say with authority here
