Recently purchased one the 27" Monoprice 2560X1440 Displays for a new Haswell build. Current specs are:

i5-4670K
ASRock Extreme 6
Gigabyte GTX 770
Windows 8

I have used my old monitor at 1920X1080 with the new system and it detects and works flawlessly. Games default to the proper settings as well.

I had the new monitor plugged into my old build (GTS 250 SLI, QX6700, Windows 7) and was able to output in full 2560X1440.

I can force the new monitor into 1920X1200 with Nvidia control panel or Windows Display, but when I switch to a game it stays in the native 1024X768.

I've looked for answers online, but don't seem to have any luck. All drivers are up to date. Again the issue is there is only one native display mode for the monitor and even when forcing it there are no options for 2560X1440. Even when forcing, games default back.

Any help is appreciated, I have a ticket sent to monoprice on the matter with no response.

Yes it happens in the game menu - I don't have a choice in Neverwinter - but also in the Display options on my desktop. I tried Neverwinter with the new monitor on my old system first and it worked in 2560X1440.

The monitor I'm using is Monoprice

Lol - the GPU and I've tried both DVI ports on the 770 and it's the same thing.

I have a feeling it's Windows 8 trying to talk with the Monoprice monitor, but can't confirm this.

Tried everything I know to try:

I installed Windows 7 on the new system to see if it was a Windows 8 problem but unfortunately the same problem exists.

Checked monitor on old system and it immediately gives me the desired resolution options. So between the i5-4670k, the ASRock Extreme 6, and the Geforce GTX 770 the problem must be.

I have updated Windows 7 withal updates and am using the latest NVidia drivers. Are there any other drivers needed like mother board drivers needed to get the generic non pnp driver to work?

Did you ever find a fix for this, or a monoprice monitor drivers? I'm experiencing the same issue as of yesterday. Unable to force native resolution.
