'Sup 'puter dudes.

I'm hoping to build my first PC with my bare hands so I can feel dead proud of myself and I'm just wondering if the parts I'm considering all go together and aren't a complete barrel of crud:

- Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard

- AMD FX 4170 Processor

- Xigmatek Asgard ATX Case

- Seagate Barracuda 500GB HDD

- EVGA GeForce GTX 660

- Corsair DDR3 XMS3 8GB

- Corsair Builder Series CX 500W PSU

Have I missed off anything crucial? I feel like I probably have considering the last time I ever did anything like this was intalling extra RAM and an LED fan on my 'Time' desktop about 10 years ago and thinking I was God's gift to electronics.

Anyway all of that comes to around a neat £500 which is the budget I'm trying to stick around.

Also is Windows 8 s***? Should I stick to Windows 7?

Any help, opinions and unwarranted insults are welcome.

Cheers

A little bit over budget but this build has:

- Better case
- Better PSU
- Way better CPU
- Pretty good GPU for the price
- Better RAM
- Twice the storage space
