Hi... I'm planning on creating a hackintosh machine and was wondering what the best config would be? I plan to use it for video editing, djing and gaming (nothing extreme)

Thanks!

FYI anything using an Intel Z77 chipset is simply AWESOME for hackintoshing. DO NOT TRY AMD it is far too much trouble. Z77 would be modern, relatively future-proof, and lightning quick, even with an Intel Core i3 or Pentium chip.

Radeon 7xxx cards or nVIDIA 6xx cards are best...I have a GT 640 works with Mountain Lion np

If you read in detail at the past few years of other people's troubles, you will quickly see that purchasing modern hardware and starting with a tried and true hardware setup will get you going with what you want in a short timespan.

I DO NOT recommend just buying whatever and assuming that you will figure out a way to make it work. Hackintoshing can take years to master

That said, I enjoy a challenge and I am using a hackintosh with slightly older Socket 775 hardware I spent exactly 44.99 on mobo, cpu, and 2GB ram, used an old 350W PSU, and an old 8400GS and crappy case, and voila. Had many, many failed attempts however, esp. with AMD hardware

Google is your friend

Hope this helps

I think the 660ti works Out-of-Box with Mountain Lion as long as you are above system version 10.8.2 nVIDIA has new graphics drivers out but read and check compatibility first.

The i7 is sweet. Your initial install will be easy if you use an Ivy Bridge chip and use the integrated video for the installation. Then put your video card in after you've updated the system.
